'Our Very Best 2010 Wishes To You' by Heidi Roberts!
The
year in reverse; our new addition to the family has just arrived - Geo's BOOK!
(after an 8 years' pregnancy!) We trust you will enjoy participating in this part
of our lives as you read Impact! and enrich your life. We will be grateful for
a USA family / friend 'Agent' to emerge - do you have any suggestions to pass
on to us? :::
What a year of blessings - the photo and card reflect the start
of our year of family memorable moments; nearly snow-bound New Years Day at the
end of our week in South Wales log cabins. Photo album-full of memories (not included
here!) as Geo Heidi Nathan and Tim flew to Modesto for Mom Jackie's wonderful
90th birthday party mid-January- a priceless multi-generation family reunion while
we-four refined our culinary skills under the watchful eye of Sis Dianne's gourmet
banquet preparation. This 'peak experience' was very sadly followed by Heidi's
quick return to Calif. for dear Aunt Barb's funeral - we were so very grateful
to visit Aunt Barb during Mom's birthday trip!. While in the USA in January, Geo
and son Tim bravely made the icy-road journey to visit Mom Virginia in Kansas
- we remain grateful Mom V is in good health and living a full life!
Treasured
times in the UK: we eleven enjoyed 4th July together (we are still attempting
to indoctrinate our 5 English grandkids as to what it is ALL about! :) Of course,
the Farnborough international Air Show was a family must-do. . More recently Geo
and I were among the thousands of mud-SOAKED spectators at the Ryder Cup in Wales.
We took sons Nathan and Tim and oldest grandkids Bethany and Chris to whoop it
up with the nearly 84,000 Wembley fans to watch the 49-ers WIN! More tuition for
the grandkids to learn the language of 'football.'
Mixed in with all the 'play
time,' son Tim and Helen's incredible church building in Watford is in the final
stages of completion, prayerfully with the first services at Christmas - we shall
all be there! The Wilsher Group has indeed moved into their own new (old!) massive
manor house premises near Bath; a building site at present with Stage One of Three
completed. We managed a major 4-month overhaul in our home during the springtime
- painting and total re-carpeting - so on all fronts we're looking forward to
dust / noise-free tranquil environments.
As with many approaching retirement
age, we are also in a new stage of flux with Geo's recent 4-day work week; he
will develop some long-awaited projects during his 'free time!' along with our
necessary book sales and marketing efforts. Our golf remains 'large' in our lives;
amazingly I am now playing off 19 h/c in the midst of what has been an exhausting
year mentally physically and emotionally as competition secretary. In recent days
I have resigned from all responsibilities on our committee. We need to get-a-life,
at long last, considering between us we have made major ongoing contributions
to 'club and country' since 2004! We're looking forward to enjoying golf again
- bring it on! Nearly 60 of us, all ages, shall be taking ballroom dancing classes
at the club starting January. By no means our attempt to elevate to Dancing With
The Stars status - just good social fun and exercise! We have some amazing plans
for our belated 65th Birthday celebration - you shall hear about it all next Christmas!
We are thankful, as always, that Geo's good health has remained, and the dear
Lord continues to protect all our family in the USA and the UK. We wish you and
yours a wonderful 2011!
