The Russell Family 2010 Holiday Letter

2010 was another very interesting year here in Henderson for the Pat Russell's.
NEW DIGS:
Our home in Henderson continues to be the major activity in our lives. We were able to move in last January and started settling in before Pat had a rotator cuff operation in February. Since then we've put in some new furniture, used the outdoor kitchen quite a bit and Pat's got the garage about half-way done the way he wants it.
VETTE UPDATE:
The LeMans blue 2006 Corvette is almost 5-years old and currently has 61,000-miles on it. We continue to be involved with the Las Vegas Corvettes Association (LVCA). Pat remains the Club's webmaster (www.vegasvettes.com) and Nita helped with the communications committee. Our events this year included an Awards Banquet; Super Bowl Party; President's Run to Lake Havasu; a great road trip to Utah, Wyoming and Idaho; drag racing for Pat; helping with the Corvette Roulette Event; and the Nevada Open Road Challenge at Ely, NV. There were also charity events, supporting high school homecomings, a Hockey Game, Car Shows, several parties, and a Cookie Exchange. The big event for us with the Club was going on a week long cruise of the Mexican Rivera with 36 others. It was our first cruise and now we know why cruises are so popular. We continue to enjoy all the activities and Friends in LVCA.
FAMILY NEWS:
Son Jim (41), Michelle, Joe (15), Katie (13) and Steve (9) are still in Tempe AZ. Joe is a 9th grader at Brophy, a Jesuit HS for boys in Phoenix. Katie is in the 7th grade and loves sports. Steve is a 4th grader and enjoys football and Scouts. Michelle keeps busy with the usual "Mom Activities" - car pooling, school helper and supervisor of their kitchen remodel. The kids are growing up fast and continue to make us proud of their accomplishments.
Son Andy (37), Spon and Naomi (3.5) live in San Ramon, CA. Naomi is growing up fast. She loves talking on the phone with PaPa and GrandMa Nita. We visited them in May and kept very busy following Naomi to play dates, shopping and playing outdoors. The big news for Andy and Spon was the new addition to the family. Jonah Preston, who is just a wonderful baby boy, was born in June.
Daughter Kathy is living in our old house in Las Vegas and switched from working at a hospital to a cancer clinic which she really enjoys.
In May the Las Vegas Chapter of the USAFA Association of Graduates was formed and Pat built their website, plus we have enjoyed attending the events the new organization has had.
The Jim Russell's were able to visit us for a few days in the new house this past summer. The Andy Russell's came to Henderson for Thanksgiving and both Great Grandmas Russell and Britton were able to visit with the kids. Nita's Mom (84) lives close to us in an assisted living center in Henderson and Pat's Mom (88) still lives in the family home 14 miles away in Las Vegas. All the kids came and stayed with us between Christmas and New Years, and it made our year complete.

We wish you all a prosperous and healthy 2011!
