The Russell Family 2014 Holiday Letter

Click for larger image2014 has been a very nice year in Henderson for the Pat Russell's. Oldest son Jim (45), Michelle, Joe (19), Katie (17) and Steve (13) still live in Tempe AZ. Joe is in his first year at George Mason Univ in VA. Katie is a junior at Xavier HS, a Catholic school for girls in downtown Phoenix. Steve attends 7th grade at Our Lady of Mt Carmel and is an avid soccer fan, along with his Dad. Son Andy (41), Spon, Naomi (7.5) and Jonah (4.5) remain in San Ramon, CA. Naomi is growing up fast and likes second grade. “Little brother” Jonah attends a preschool and likes playtime best! Daughter Kathy (36) stays busy at a cancer clinic where she is a primary care nurse. In April, we drove the Vette to Texas for Pat’s aunt’s 90th birthday – it was a super trip. We saw lots of cousins, and Pat’s brothers, Mike & Dan, also went. For almost eight years now, Pat has maintained the Class of ‘68 Academy Website. He also maintains the Britton Cousins website, his High School’s class website and the local USAFA Click for larger imageAssociation of Graduates Chapter website. Pat spearheaded the 50th Reunion of his 1964 high school’s graduating class in October, which coincided with Bishop Gorman HS’s 60th anniversary and homecoming weekend.

The LeMans Blue 2006 Corvette Convertible is almost 9-years old and currently has 105,000 mi on it. Pat received permission from Nita to buy a new one, a coupe, which we will pick-up at the Corvette Museum/Factory in Bowling Green KY in June. We continue to be very involved with the Las Vegas Corvettes Association (LVCA). Pat has been the Club's webmaster for seven years and leads the Club's support for the May and September 90-mile open road races up in Ely NV. Besides the many social and driving events, we enjoyed a multi-day Club event in Beatty and Death Valley in February.

We keep enjoying our Henderson home more all the time. We’ve been in the house almost five years now. The big change this year was the installation of 28 solar panels. We’re now environmentally friendly and have much lower electric bills. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and convenient. Visitors and guests are always welcome at the Russell Inn. If you are planning a trip to Las Vegas – call and come visit!

Wishing you a memorable Holiday season!
Pat & Nita
