The Bailey Family 2016 Christmas Letter

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Cathy & Brooke Bailey

The end of 2016 finds all of us well and prospering and hope the same is true for you and your family!

Not too much new this year. We had a quiet year and didn't really travel much. We did take our annual (third year in a row) ski trip to Colorado. It was back to Aspen again with Liz and family. As fast as I am on the slopes, the kids are catching up to me. All are accomplished skiers and seem to love the sport! Everyone had a great time with superb weather
and no injuries!

Brooke did find his way to the scalpel in April with a necessary rotator cuff repair to the right shoulder. Injury was probably due to repetitive stress from taking deep divots with golf! The recovery was just as miserable as everyone who has had the surgery says. But, with lots of physical therapy and hard work, Brooke has pretty much recovered. Surprisingly, after five months, he started back playing his best golf ever. But, after a few weeks, he realized he could swing hard again, and there went the swing!

We did have a great summer with Liz and the kids here for part of the summer. Other sporting activities like all-star baseball and field hockey in Charlotte and traveling teams, kept some of the kids and Liz away part of the time. Brent managed to get down for a few days. Boating, sailing, water skiing, boogie boarding and swimming kept us in the sun all summer.

Cathy's recovery from last year's surgery has continued to be extraordinary. She decided it isn't in the cards to play golf anymore, but has been a regular at the gym and is keeping very fit. She is quite active with her church, playing mahjong, cards, and is involved with several ladies' groups.

Brooke is off to Aspen in early December for ten days of skiing with a boy's trip! They are hoping for some more snow as there hasn't been much to date.

We look for exciting times in the coming year. The election is behind us, and we are optimistic about the future.

Best wishes to you and your family. And, keep our troops in mind! Merry Christmas!

Cathy & Brooke
