We hope 2020 has been a safe and productive year for you and your family. The year has been one of challenges for all of us. As someone said, "This too shall pass! It might pass like a kidney stone, but it will pass!" I think that says it all!

In January, we flew down to Tampa to visit some good friends. It was unseasonably cold, but we still enjoyed some good food, cards, and wonderful sights of many beautiful water birds that live around their house

We were fortunate to visit Charlotte in early March (just before the pandemic restriction set in). Will had the lead role in his school's play, "The Yellow Boat." He did a superb job, and we felt fortunate to be there along with his other grandparents from Canada. We saw Liz and family again in late June and early July with lots of beach, boating, etc. The addition of a new boat helped.

The grandchildren have all been struggling to get much education this year with all online classes. Cate is in her HS senior year and has been working hard with the college application process. Paige is 15 and has started driving everywhere on her learner's permit. Sam has continued to enjoy baseball and Will is heavily into singing, dancing and acting. Brent has been working at home ever since March. He says it is working quite well.

After quarantining in Charlotte, Liz and family came here for Thanksgiving, and we had a wonderful and warm Thanksgiving. We were in the boat three days in a row. Sam and Cate waterskied and Will and Paige went swimming in the ocean. That half Canadian blood lets them easily get into the cold water-brrr!

It has been quiet for us most of the rest of the year. Brooke has been able to play golf three days a week and works out in our home gym five days a week. Cathy has stayed up to date with Zoom for church and several of her other groups. But, she does miss her Mahjong group! She had a hip replacement in August and has recovered very well. We've been back to the Club gym once or twice a week for the last two months.

We reached the milestone of 50 years of marriage in September and had to scrub plans for any celebration this year.
