The Hoffman Family 2020 Christmas Letter

Gary & Mary Hoffman

December 2020

Christmas Greetings from the Black Forest in Colorado! It's cold and snowy after an unusually warm start to December. We may receive a little more snow in the next few days, but the weatherman says dry and freezing for Christmas.

Like most folks, out travel has been severely curtailed due to the pandemic. Gary had business trips to Florida and British Columbia in the first two months, but we cancelled our Santa Fe Restaurant Week adventure and Viking River Cruise in April, as well as other travel plans for the year. We did venture out for two dinners at outside venues when things seemed to be getting better (social distancing from others of course), but with the second wave, we're sticking pretty close to home. Our outings are mainly to supermarkets for food and the few things we can't get on Amazon.

We're fortunate to live in a beautiful community with large lots and plenty of walking trails, so we can get out and enjoy the fresh air when the weather permits. Gary bought himself an e-bike for his birthday and has really enjoyed some exploring on roads and trails. Mary stays content to walk and take in the scenery.

We're assuming we'll have a Covid vaccine available to us sometime second quarter next year, so we're eagerly looking forward to getting out again. We have reservations for our delayed Danube River trip in October 2021 with some time in Istanbul with Marc and his family afterwards. We're also exploring some train adventures when it's safe to travel again.

Our best wishes to you and your family for an enjoyable and safe holiday season.

Merry Christmas!

Gary & Mary
