Merry
Christmas & Happy Holidays
Cathy & Brooke Bailey
Weve only taken a few out-of-town trips this year! We went to Charlotte a few times to visit Liz and family and Chapel Hill for the full UNC football experience. Our bigger trip was to Glacier National Park in Montana. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful scenery, including the Going to the Sun Road with narrow lanes, spectacular waterfalls, and sharp drop-offs! There arent many glaciers there anymore, but the way the glaciers of old carved out and formed the mountains and valleys made breathtaking terrain.
Earlier, in March, Cathy took a no-notice trip to France with Liz, granddaughter Paige, and niece Catherine Jamison Harris. Paige chose the destination for her spring break. They had a great time together seeing Versailles, the Rodan Museum, the Water Lillies and Normandy. Of course, they ate great food and saw many other beautiful sights. (I think Cathy was there to counsel President Macron on the best way to pull off the Olympics--she must have done a good job).
Granddaughter, Cate, is a senior at UVA and is having a wonderful time with friends and school. She has been accepted into medical school starting in July 2025well let you know later where she chooses to go. Paige is a sophomore at UNC and was accepted into their undergraduate Business School program starting in January. Sam is a high school senior, on the varsity baseball team, is part of his high school student government, and created a school Club to help a charitable cause. Will won a drama slot for in residence high school seniors at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem, NC. He has some wonderful teachers there. Both boys are working hard on their college applications.
Liz and Brent are very busy with her yoga and his work and keeping up with their childrens activities/college applications. And, of course, Granddog Bear (a beautiful golden retriever), came to visit again for the summer!
Were winding up the year with Thanksgiving and family at our home, then well be off to their home for Christmas. We wish you and your family peace and joy this Christmas season.
