Russell Craig Walker

WALKER, Russell C. age 59, of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away at home on Sunday, July 9, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Gail and her daughter, Kayle. Russ is also survived by his sons Brent and Craig along with Craig's wife, Tanya, and their two daughters, Kaitlyn and Madison, of whom Russ was very proud; step-son, Michael Rutledge, wife Jessica and their children, Jonathan Shouse and Isabella Rutledge. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Russ is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Russ was preceded in death by his first wife, Kay (the mother of Brent and Craig) who passed in 1995; sister, Lana Lundstrom; brother, Larry Walker. Russ was born August 6, 1946 in Fontanelle, Iowa to Lorena and Albert Walker (deceased). After graduating from the Air Force Academy in 1968, he served 20 years in the Air Force, attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel before retiring in 1988. Russ was currently employed by BAE Systems in Dayton, OH. He was a member of Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church, The Old Crows Association, Greene County Fish and Game, and a proud member of the Masons. Russ enjoyed an extensive circle of friends and family and made an impact on those he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his loved ones know he is in God's hands. A service was held Thursday, July 13 at 6:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Stroop Rd. in Kettering. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Russ' name to The American Heart Association, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
