Fly Fishing at our 50th Reunion - October 4, 2018

Here’s some pictures of the 4 Oct Fly Fishing Excursion for our class reunion. These came from Jim Bettcher....thus why he’s the only one showing some of the rainbows we caught. All five of us caught fish....just that others didn’t ask their guide to take pictures ?? too busy catching. Thorburn had several large ones I was told in the 20" range and lost those big ones. We had rainbows ranging from 14 inches up to one that was landed that was probably 24" and 5 lbs but I landed it, and neither had a camera with them....and that’s no fish story....honor code truth ??. All said they very much enjoyed and were worn out at the end of the day wading in the two miles of private water on the North Fork of the South Platte, up in Pine, CO (1 hr 20 min from Springs). We had gorgeous fall weather, about 70 degrees, with one slight 5 minute shower in the afternoon. The Guide service provided excellent grilled hamburgers, cheese, Hatch chiles, lettuce, tomato, etc...and I provided some beers...interesting after late lunch, less fish were caught (h’mmm).             Doug Wilson
