REPORT
I. Progress Report - What's finished
Hotel Contract - DoubleTree for October 4-6, 2018 (with "shoulder
days" Oct 1-10) - Includes rooms for Thursday reception, Friday
banquet and Saturday football watch party
Items scheduled or confirmed -
Thursday, October 4 - golf outing, fly fishing or pheasant hunting,
reception
Friday, October 5 - Cadet area tour, memorial service, banquet
Saturday, October 6 - football game, football watch party
Sunday, Oct 7 - open house at Janssens
Merchandise committee - Working with Cole Promos. Goods
to be ordered on-line with home delivery.
Class Gift status - In public phase with squadron representatives
contacting donors. Well on the way to meeting minimum goal.
II. Questions/Discussion items
Friday night banquet decisions
Combination of table service for dinner and "pub table" service
for initial reception and dessert and dancing - reception to follow
will include acoustic band with minimal amplification
Dress code to be "gentlemen must wear jackets and no denim. "
Basically jackets but without a specific requirement for a tie
Minimal program, no speaker or performers but option of a dance band
after dinner.
Possibly overlay silent slide show
Alternate Activities - Only to be explored if can find
people to organize and if there is adequate class interest:
Cyber Center Tour and competition team briefing
Polaris Hall - Tour
Drone briefing or demonstration
Gym modifications
Air Field tour - Probably impossible because of supervision requirements
Falcon stadium tour - May not be possible
Blue & Silver Club
WWII Museum - Offered as an option - only open to public Tues, Thurs
or Sat
Kelly Airpark - Offered as an option Wednesday or Thursday morning
COS retirement - maybe written or before reunion
Segway tour of Garden of Gods as alternate to other activities or Wed
or Sun
Cog railway to Pikes Peak as alternate to other activities or Wed or
Sun
Seven Falls trip as alternate to other activities or Wed or Sun
After next committee meeting we will survey classmates
to determine activity preferences.
III. Next Meeting - Tuesday, August 15 at 1400 in
South Conference Room of Doolittle Hall.
At that time we will identify the specific options to offer classmates
in a survey of preferences.
