Tim's March 2023 Checkpoints Class News Article

HELLO ’68! Remember when excuses used to include: “The dog ate my homework.” “I accidently set the carpet on fire” One can only wonder how “I left my classified documents in a storage box next to my Corvette in a locked garage;” will play out.

“Garry Dudley for AOG Board. L-R: Garry and Tina Dudley”

‘68ER SEEKS YOUR VOTE: Our classmate, Garry Dudley, has thrown his hat into the ring to remain a member of the AOG’s Board of Directors. Garry’s credentials are impeccable with service as President of the Class Senate, a sitting member of the AOG Board, volunteer instructor in the Management Department, and recipient of USAFA’s Distinguished Service Award. When it is time to cast your ballot for the AOG Board, please vote for Garry.

“Frank Moore and Brenda Brown Move to Land of Enchantment.: L-R: Front Row: Charlene Bellwood, Brenda Brown, Lucy Batchelor, Kakai Bowers, Pat Corrigan (Scott Bohner’s friend), and Dottie Hall. Back Row: Sonny Bellwood, Scott Bohner, Frank Moore, David Mann, Doug Batchelor, Ken Bowers, and Gary Hall.”

‘68ER LEAVES NORTH TEXAS FOR SANTA FE:
I received an email from David Mann about a farewell dinner for Frank Moore and Brenda Brown hosted by Scott Bohner at the Rodeo Goat Restaurant in Dallas on September 21st. David said that this group has been getting together for years and they will sincerely miss Frank and Brenda. With this move to Santa Fe, the Moore’s will be joining Jim and Brinda Thompson, who moved to the city in 2021. In a Christmas email from Jim, it sounds as though the classmates are already getting in some quality visits with one another. In a follow-up email, David notes that Marche Ann and he will be traveling to Santa Fe to check out Frank’s and Brenda’s new digs.

STAY TUNED FOR FUTURE UPDATES ON OUR 55-YEAR REUNION:
The latest info I have from our Reunion Chairman, Gary Hoffman, is that we are still shooting for a reunion date in September 2023 for our 55th. Check our Class website for the latest information.

REESE AFB CLASS OF 70-01 53RD REUNION:

“Alan and Marlee Price and Family.”

ANOTHER ‘68ER ON THE MOVE:
In Alan Price’s Christmas letter he writes, We sold our home in Kenwee Key, GA and moved into our new townhome on Jekyll Island. “Marlee loves the location and can be walking the beach in 8 minutes. Alan has continued working with his hospital client in California and implemented his patient safety program in the ED (Emergency Department--which was formerly known as the ER).” They made several visits to Portugal to see Meredith and her family and hosted a “grand-camp” for their kids and grand kids in July and August. If you were unable to get hold of them over the holiday season, they were skiing with Meredith and her family in the French Alps. In closing Alan writes, “We have lost several dear friends this year and value each of you all the more. Take time to tell others you love them and hold them close. Our relationships are the most precious of all our possessions. Nurture and care for them.”

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS: We were saddened by loss of three of our classmates. Thomas John Eaves, Jr. died on 12 August 2022 in Westlake Village, CA. Slava Wetscheslav Harlamor died on 9 September 2022 at his home in Pleasanton, TX. Philip Louis Abold, Jr. died on 6 December 2022 in Woodbridge, VA. Phil was formerly a Vice President at Defense Group, Inc.

The AOG, Pat Russell, and I have scant information about these departed classmates. If you are aware of classmate's death, please let Pat and me know so we can notify the AOG. Additionally, if you have information you would like to add to a classmate’s memoriam narrative, please send a request to Pat to have it included on the website. Thank you!

THAT'S A WRAP:
Mind the flak; keep ‘em flying, and keep those cards, letters, e-mails, and photos coming in to Pat Russell and me. Ciao for now. Tim
